2004: What worked then does not work now.
Jeff (red shirt, with our team in Russia) and I started in the domain business some nine years ago, in November 1999. The Twitter application I talked about on Saturday was launched today at noon and already seems to be a tremendous success. Sorry for posting late on this, I was at Kyle Graham's house one of the creators of Viral Tweets to find out more.
After talking to Kyle the main idea behind this tool is to
A look back at the previous month in domain names.
2009 started with a bang in the domain name industry. Here's a look at the top five new articles (by views) on Domain Name Wire:

RAI.mobi domain owner did himself a disservice in responding to UDRP.
It's difficult to win a UDRP domain arbitration case when you don't respond to the proceedings. (Difficult, but not impossible). But sometimes not responding to a case is a better idea than responding with a half-hearted story.
That's what happened in the...
As the curtain comes down, here's a look back at last week's conference in Los Angeles.
Oversee.net's DOMAINfest Global 2009 was an excellent conference. Now that I've had time to relax and reflect on last week, I'd say the conference deserves five stars. Of course, there's always room for improvement.

An example of the confusion that will reign when new TLDs are launched.
This morning I saw an ad in the print edition of The New Yorker for Vogue.TV, the popular magazine's multimedia web site. Here's the ad:

Twitter backlash at GoDaddy ads is amusing, but it won't add up to much.
The Monday after the Super Bowl is filled with analysis. Not about the football game, but the commercials. Domain Name Wire received literally thousands of search visitors Monday from people searching for GoDaddy's Super Bowl ad.

I have to say that I personally love the eTrade.com commercials with the baby. They speak volumes and are simply Crazy Funny! The following is My Vote for the best Super Bowl commercial and it happened in the Pre-Game!

Okay, okay! This is my last post about the Super Bowl and it's ads! The only reason I am posting so much about them is you can LEARN so much about them!

I think we can all agree that the Moniker live auction at DomainFest was pretty much a bomb, but I don't really think this is a bad thing for the industry. There weren't many bargains in the live auction, which shows that domain owners aren't necessarily losing faith in their investments and selling their domain

With a little about a day and a half left in its auction at Sedo, Dollars.com currently has a high bid of $385,990.? This domain name changed hands in July of 2007 for $650,000. This is a strong domain name, and I predict it will close near the previous amount at which it sold.

A suggestion recently came from Kevin, one of my readers and I thought it might make for an interesting study.
