Senior Vice President Pete Lamson has left NameMedia where he ran two of the domain industry's biggest sales platforms; the AfternicDLS and BuyDomains. Over the past four years Lamson helped boost sales to small business end users through development of an expanded promotion platform.
Earlier today we reported that NameMedia Senior VP Pete Lamson, who was also General Manager of the AfternicDLS and BuyDomains, left the company last week. This afternoon I heard through the grapevine that?the company's Senior VP for Direct Search, Brian Carr, also left recently.
After reporting the departure of two NameMedia Senior VP's earlier today, we now convey the news that eNom Founder and Demand Media President Paul Stahura is leaving his post. The move comes 12 years after Stahura founded eNom and four years after he sold the registrar to Demand Media.
Here is the final part of the ?Developing A Geo Domain? series from the Domainer?s Magazine October issue. This last part discusses monetizing you Geo domain site. I hope you found the series to be informative in some capacity. I wanted to share it with you all, because if any of you

Even with close to 300 TLDs today, we're still seeing more and more TLD's being both proposed and approved as the internet continues to expand. While all of these extensions have interesting stories and endorsements backing them up, the creation of all these new TLD's is just asking for trouble (especially in "Corporate America").
We're just...
Paul Stahura launched eNom in 1997 from an ISDN line in his garage in Redmond Washington. The company now is part of Demand Media and Paul was a CSO as well as a member of the board. After 12 years, he is now leaving the company. Here is what he writes on Facebook:
After much thought,
Prank dialing services fight it out in UDRP.
After starting prank dialing service PrankDial.com, Fahim Saleh was a little miffed that another site called PrankDialer.com came along. So he filed for domain arbitration against PrankDialer.com owner Trey Glauser, who also has a handful of similar domains.
Saleh's argument for trademark rights to Pran...

On two of my more heavily trafficked websites (Burbank.com and TropicalBirds.com), I added forums for people to chat and have discussions. Since the domain names were fairly targeted, I assumed that people would be happy to join and begin interacting, which would help build brand awareness and recognition. I was wrong.
On TropicalBirds.com, I added...
If you're like me, at some point you've been paralyzed in making a business decision about development because you don't know any developers or designers. When I wanted to develop my first website with a friend, we posted a wanted ad on Craigslist, only to be inundated with responses from all over the world. How

Peter Askew was on the ball with camera at the ready when this ill-fated URL appeared. Not sure what they were going for with the spacing. And putting everything after the root domain in orange only emphasizes what a clusterfreak it is. This URL has Michael Scott written all over it.
Here's another SkewURL. Nice slogan integration and Leading Caps aid in readability. My only problem with it is that some may read this quickly has StartHealthyStartHealthy.com or StayHealthyStayHealthy.com. Alternating Fonts would've gone a long way here. Otherwise, this URL is smooth as a baby's butt!
This was a good, er... bad spot by Buck Dossey who now works for one of the big 3 search providers where he's hopefully spreading the URL-aholism. Now, I'm not gonna comment on the hot yoga business model but if trying not to move in a 100 degree temperature room didn't already turn you off, I have to believe that Arizona sweat lodge nonsense would...
This goes to show that movie URLs do not need to be long adaptations of movie title dash the movie dot com. Rather, they can pose intrigue and, when paired with a clean display, be very effective. Let's hope this is not the end of good movie URLs.
So now that the media hype over internationalized domain names (IDNs) has died down, let?s focus on the messy details of what this all means.
First of all, we?re not about to see the non-Latin equivalent of .com anytime soon. Certainly not next year. There are several reason for this which I will cover in a

While most domainers focus on keywords and making pennies on ad searches, the big money in domains is in call-to-actions for TV spots. Received a tidbit from a friend of mine citing a Merchant Circle survey showing some amazing numbers and something I have hit on with a few posts lately. I sold three domains this week for a total of $2600.? Not my best total but the first time I've sold three. It was pure coincidence that it fell as the same time I've gotten my domain blog up and running,? as 2 of these were in auctions and 1 was a private buyer.? No
