A side note to our sellers: We have buyers wanting revenue producing domains. If you have any, even if low producers, ...

Creating a marketplace is tough, but the rewards are high.
One of the challenges new companies offering domain name services face is that of creating a market. It's the age old question of the chicken and the egg. Which comes first, the supply or the demand? To get sellers you need buyers and
Next month's event just got more interesting.
I'll say this about Oversee.net and its DOMAINfest conferences: it always responds to feedback.
The company just announced that it's beefing up its one day event to be held on May 13 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Some of the rumblings on blogs and message boards when the company first...
As if a flimsy trademark wasn't enough…
It's bad enough that Romantic Tours, Inc. has convinced three panels to hand over domain names based on its trademark for "Hot Russian Brides". Now the company has gone too far: it tried to get a domain name based on a directory on the web site.

An idea for domainers to help charity.
After paying $127.50 for a sugar cookie in the name of charity, I had an idea. Couldn't we auction off some other swag for charity?
So I'm going to give it a shot. I'm introducing the "Ultimate Swag Bag Auction Series" on Domain Name Wire.

PetsUnited, LLC is no stranger to domain names and they just added another domain to their stable, AskTheVet.com for $10,000 USD which was purchased at Sedo.com . PetsUnited owns many of the best pet/animal related domain names like Dog.com, Cat.com and Horse.com as well as many other premium related domain names like Farm.com and Garden.com
This is my third installment about finding domain names by domain name servers. In this article, I will provide you with the tools you need to search by DNS and some of the more popular domain name servers and who and what they are used for. If you have not read my other two postings,
I think I can say I have official seen it all and this is just proof that ANY domain name can sell for ANY price! I mean really, I almost crapped my pants when I saw the domain name that it even "sold", let alone when I saw $18,000 after it, I almost fell off
I was talking with a friend (who isn't in the domain business) about domain domain names, and he asked me what domain names I wish I owned and what domain names I did own that were my favorites. It wasn't a long discussion and I gave a few off the cuff answers, but it got

First time URL-spotter William Alvarez served up this one. Why do marketers insist on alllowercase and /slashes?!? If they used a subdomain and peppered in some Leading Caps, this URL would really stick, you know... like white on rice!
Peter Askew, of SkewURL fame, captured this oddity that shows up in the final frame of a Coldwell Banker TV ad. It looks like an URL, it's placed like an URL (briefly at the end of the spot) but it's a NotURL. While I applaud Coldwell Banker for promoting its iPhone and Android apps along with its website (thankfully they stopped short of including...
Brian Lieberman spotted this back patch and asked, JackSoldSouth or JacksOldSouth? My response: either way it's going down.
URL-aholic Jeremy Williams reminds us that Leading Caps are as important on Twitter as they are when promoting domain names. As I once tweeted... #curseallyoupeopleandyourlowercasehashtags #IsntThisEasierToRead? Have we learned nothing from http://GoodURLBadURL??? (Of course, I had to use the http in the tweet so that the URL would be hyperlinked s...
This is a very brief blog post with quite the big content. Last week was a special week at ICANN, with several IDN milestones meet. Many were included in the 22 April 2010 ICANN Board meeting. The ICANN Board approved the first IDN ccTLD delegation requests for four countries. These countries

Morning Folks!! I posted this over at TheDomains and decided I need to post it here and perhaps expand on it a bit. I will get some folks upset. Not my intention. Just my absolute view of things. You are free to disagree. Most do. Nothing new or unexpected. So I can tell you what you want to hear or I can tell it the way I see it. Those that know m...
Blogging can be fun. Blogging can take up a lot of time. Blogging is very rarely a solid business model. Yup, I said it. Blogging is a great add on to an existing business model to stay in touch with your customers, add fresh content to your website, target some long tail keywords to rank
Last night about fifteen Domainers got-together at a swanky Indian restaurant in Beverly Hills to talk Domains. While the turn-out was less than at most of our previous Meet Ups it was an excellent group and the smaller size made it easy for everyone to talk with each other! Of course we'd love to have
I would like to thank Andrew for putting together a great auction.? He let me know up front that the point of the auction was to put up names with low reserves and we would see if they had legs from there.? Fortunately,? my domains had legs and I sold both of them and overall
