According to Kieren McCarthy ICANN's general counsel read a statement at the start of the public forum at the current ICANN meeting in Brussel, stating that the Board had accepted the results of the independent review panel and thus would approve the .xxx TLD tomorrow. The board had delayed the decision until the 38th ICANN
.XXX to get green light, but the value to ICM registry has wilted.
Ex-ICANN staffer Kieren McCarthy is reporting that ICANN's general counsel has spilled the beans on .xxx, saying ICANN will approve the new top level domain name tomorrow during its board meeting.
Make no mistake, this is a monumental moment for ICANN.
Security is only a minor concern for upcoming ICANN meeting in Colombia.
My image of Colombia is colored by the past. It's an image of the days of Pablo Escobar, rampant kidnappings, crime, and guerrillas forces. It's shaped by books such as Mark Bowden's Killing Pablo and the 2000 film Proof of Life.

There are many similarities between baseball card collecting and domain names.
I suspect that many domainers collected sports cards growing up.
There are a lot of similarities between baseball cards collecting and domaining. We like to show off our prized domains. We often gravitate toward certain themes, such as collecting four letter domains....
As parking companies get more sophisticated, scammers get creative.
Ask any domain name parking company what their number one nuisance is and they'll say fraud. Click fraud is big, but it all starts with trying to get an account at the parking companies.
One large parking company told me it approves fewer than 1% of the
I was never aware that a domain name owner at GoDaddy had the option to obtain the amount of whois searched done for domain names you own at GoDaddy but I had noticed a thread at NamePros.com explaining on how to obtain the amount of Whois searches at GoDaddy.com for domain names you own. This
The .tel TLD launched with general availability on March 24th, 2009 and by December 2009 Telnic had reported 275,000 registered domain names.
I personally have never registered a .tel and do not plan on doing so. I rarely see any reported domain name sales but happened to see E-E.tel reported today on Sedo.com for $1,360 USD,
I spent some time working with Craig Rowe of WhyPark and want to share some good news that some of you may have heard about in Vancouver at the Traffic conference. Next week, it is expected that WhyPark will debut a bundle of special domain apps that domain owners can add to their websites. At

We've seen quite a few blogs recently that are running WordPress and using the default setting for permalinks. It's unfortunate that this is the default, because it really does nothing for you in the way of SEO. However, there's a quick fix for this that should help your blog posts get a little more notice.

This is part 1b of my lessons learned series. Part 1 is about managing techniques and philosophies. As mentioned in part 1a, this exercise is as much for me as it is for you. I need to type this out to remind myself of what is important. Today’s lesson: Sometimes you hire the right person
Morning Folks!! What a pleasant surprise when my newest iPhone arrived a day early. The FedEx guy said his truck was loaded up with them. No surprise here. In late June of 2007 my life changed. 3 years later my lifestyle has been revolutionized. June 2007 was the release of the original iPhone. I paid $100 for somebody to stand in line for me that ...
In its public forum held in Brussels today it appears ICANN is set to approve the .XXX? tomorrow. Citing the findings of the independent review panel which found that ICANN acted against its own rules when it rejected the .XXX extension, it appears ICANN board has no choice but to approve the extension. Early indications
Bring her with you to T.R.A.F.F.I.C. South Beach this October for just $299. Rick Schwartz just notified me that the first 10 family sign ups will get a $100 Hotel Credit. Effectively making the price $199. Schwartz reminds me that this is only for the first 10 tickets and then it will be the flat $299 until June 30 when it will go to $349. This is...
In a "spotlight" search for a phrase of copy, I incidentally came across this passage from my daily VIP emails sent in 2005. Eye-opening then and eye-opening now."But everyone else should be thinking of an exit strategy, not only for the uncertainty of PPC but for the reality that the web we know today will be obsolete tomorrow. Just as refrigerat...
I was just reading one of my favorite search engine blogs, SearchEngineLand.com, when I came-across a very interesting article about what Yahoo and Bing are doing to promote their services in the latest iPhone OS4 release. So what's all the fuss about? Both Yahoo and Bing have added a very interesting feature to OS4; when
I have decided to re-schedule MorganLinton.tv to 6:00PM PST today. A good friend of mine from college is coming-into town and I want to have time to grab dinner with him. It will also be interesting to test this time and see how it works for everyone – let me know your thought and my

Interesting thing I noticed today while looking over some recent product domain name sales. Sedo (.xml) and Afternic are reporting the sale of the same domain name: AdhesiveLabels.com for the price of $3,816. The domain name was in Sedo's Online Retail Auction that I wrote about here and ended on 06/10/2010.
