    GoDaddy A record problem

    Hello all, sorry if this question was answerd before ...

    I have problem with setting DNS records in godaddy pannel.

    I am using default godaddy nameservers with my domain and i want to point it to my vps hosting (using another company for vps NOT godaddy).

    When i choose my domain -> then Zone file tab -> i see empty list of dns records.

    Then i am trying to add an A (Host) Record

    Hostname = @
    Point to - My vps hosting ip address
    TTL - 1h

    Then -> Save changes and:

    We're having difficulty processing your request.

    1 records had issues
    . View errors >>

    When i click on View errors:

    These records were not processed due to errors:
    Records
    -

    nothing is shown , only empty list. And my newly created A record is deleted. This happens with CNAME MX record .. etc

    Please guide me , what am i doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Right now I have some domains with godaddy and using their DNS just does not work.
    When I tried and edit anything, it just come up with that error.
    Even after calling them... they still can't tell me how to fix it!

    All I can say is use 3rd party DNS (e.g cloudflare, name cheap dns, dnsmadeeasy and etc)

    Hello , thanks for the answer.

    I have limited knowleage of how to make that mydomain.com point to my VPS Ip address using third party dns providers. For ex. cloudflare -> i registered , added my domain there , then i changed the nameservers with the nameservers provided by cloudflare , but still cant realize how this will help me point mydomain.com to my vps ip, what to do next?

    and my domain in browser is still showing "Server not found"

    First try and be able to view your VPS in your browser. Then start worrying about DNS.

    Navigate to Cloudflare's DNS management and ensure that the A record for your domain points to IP of your VPS server.
