Company Domain Discoveries On The Move

I’m still not sure If I am going to continue to do these or not, but I have still been doing the research and I have still beeen writing down notes while doing the research.. so here is a Big List of domain name discoveries from my daily dig notes. If you are wondering, this is two days worth of digging and I clearly do not write about “all” of the domains I see. I don’t hide any, it just doesn’t make sense to write about some domains.

There is a lot of data below on domain name that were recently purchased by large companies, some that are likely moving to live website, advertising campaigns and much more, so enjoy!

Time Inc.

Hand registered the domain name GetBroadsheet.com . Broadsheet refers to the format of a common newspaper. This lead me to checkout Broadsheet.com and the domain name forwards to FourthEstate.com, which imo is a “for sale lander”, without saying the domain is for sale. It shows an image of an email address, with the text “The domain you have tried to access does not hold any live-projects.” There is also a Google Adsense ad block on the top of the site. John Mason owns the domain according to Whois records.

Mercury Radio Arts, Inc.

This is Glen Becks company who opperates TheBlaze.com, but they registered two domain names that include. CompaniesITrust.com and PlannersITrust.com

Wells Fargo

Started forwarding the domain name WFA.com to the domain name WellsFargoAdvisors.com . It appears that Wells Fargo likely purchased WFA.com not that long ago. Did you know? Wells Fargo
owns the two letter domain name, WF.com? They use it for mobile banking.

Yahoo Inc.

Is Yahoo getting into the boot business? It would appears so with all the following “boot” domains that were mainly registered in 2012:

worldyahooboots.com
yahooboot.net
yahoobootsblog.com
yahoobootscamp.com
yahoobootscamps.com
yahoobootscenter.com
yahoobootscompany.com
yahoobootsdesign.com
yahoobootsguide.com
yahoobootshome.com
yahoobootshomes.com
yahoobootsmedia.com
yahoobootsonline.com
yahoobootssale.com
yahoobootsservice.com
yahoobootsshop.com
yahoobootssite.com
yahoobootsstore.com
yahoobootstech.com
yahoobootsusa.com
yahoobringup.com
yourbootsyahoo.com
youryahooboots.com

None of the domains resolve but during several checks… I found several “website titles” listed as “Counterfeit Domain Obtained by UGG Australia”. So these domains were likely seized in some way and turned over to Yahoo, because of the Yahoo trademark is my guess? So Yahoo is not likely getting into the boot selling business. I do like boots though!

Blueman Productions

Hand registered several domain names relating to TheMotibots.com, net and .biz. Also eMotibots.biz . Blueman has owned the domain TheEmotibots.com since 2012 and likely is getting ready to do something with “Emotibots” (robots with emotions)? They do not own Emotibots.com from what I can tell.

Anheuser-Busch

Hand registered the domain name CelebrateYourLakes.com and has build a website for it already… with a coming soon page on the site. Starting July 8, 2014 they are holding a contest with a conservation grant brought to you by Michelob Golden Light. Minnesota Lakes are the only elgible lakes. The inaugural winner of the $50K grant was Albert Lea Lake. Celebrate Your Lake program is the “name. Anheuser-Busch also owns the singular version, which they registered on 6-6-2014, so it took them nearly 1 month to figure out it would be a good idea to register the plural of the domain. Both domains resolve to the same website!

Under Armour, Inc.

Hand registered the domain name SiezeGlory.com! That is a typo of “seize” for the correct spelling of SeizeGlory.com, a domain name they also hand registered on 5-19-2014. UA does a great job
at hand registering nice domains! UA does not own SeizeYourGlory.com.

General Mills, Inc.

Purchased the domain name Plateful.com from Frank Schilling. The likely sales price was around $11,000 as that was what it was listed for. The domain does not resolve yet, but will likely
resolve to a new site soon, as they have set DNS for it.

CubicInches.com

Was very likely purchased from BuyDomains. for about $1,620 and the new site will launch 8/1/2014 according to the coming soon page. This will likely be a “car” related site.

Atcore Systems Inc.

Very likely purchased the domain name ModLabs.com, a domain that was listed for sale for $4,388

Twitter Inc.

Twitter continues some domain name registrations likely relating to “shopping” which I wrote about on July 2nd. Twitter registered the following new domain names:

TwitterOffers.com
VineOffers.com
VineCoupons.com

NFL

The NFL registered A BUNCH of .us domain names all relating to many of the NFL teams, with the similar keyword set of: ShopBillsGear.us and ThePackersGear.us . All of the newly registered domain names are .us domains only with many of the .com, .net, .org, .info etc all not registered and available. Why they would only register the .us domains, I’m not sure… It is hard to tell at this point how they will use the domains.

HarperCollins Publishers L.L.C.

Appears to moving several domain names over to the service of MarkMonitor. Several domains have changed DNS to Mark Monitor, but the domains remain at the Network Solutions registrar. This will likely change to the Mark Monitor registrar within the week. Mark Monitor is a corporate domain service provider.

HC.com was the one that stood out the most to me, but they moved several others as well like HarperBusiness.com and WhereDoBooksComeFrom.com . Harper Collins owns about 800 domain names.

LRC Products Limited / Reckitt Benckiser / Durex Condoms

Is likely getting ready to launch some sort of adervertising campaign around the term of “30 Nights Of Nookie” as they registered several variations of domain names like: ThirtyNightsOfNookie.com, 30NightsOfNookie.com, 30non.com, DurexThirtyNights.com, Durex30non.com, Durex30Nights.com, and DurexThirtyNightsOfNookie.com. Durex does offer a 30 pack of condoms, so maybe something for that? Most months have 30 days in them… but what do you do on the months with 31 🙂

InsureMyPhone.com

Was very likely purchased, maybe at Sedo. The domain was parked with Sedo. It appears two players were involved with this one, Marksmen and Csc Corporate Domains. I was not able to dig up a price or who the new buyer may be.

Fruit of the Loom, Inc.

Appears to be getting ready to do something with the domain WomenWhoDo.com, a domain name that was created in 2005 and purchased from BuyDomains at somepoint for about $1,888. This will likely be used in an advertising campaign in some way.
