Company Domain Movers From Redbull, Aol & More

Welcome to another round of DotWeekly Discoveries and related company domain movers with recent registrations and purchasing of domain names. Often, DotWeekly’s findings are some of the earliest public knowledge of upcoming brands, products or services… so if I can’t find and or provide data with a domain registration, a lot of time, this is why!

Red Bull GmbH

Registered the domain name RedBullPassTheCan.com . I see a lot of domains like this and never really include them in my reports. A lot of companies register domain names with “Band Name” +
Keyword and Keyword + “Brand Name”. I didn’t want you to think not many companies are still doing this, but often this isn’t very interesting.

At times, I will check the “keyword” set without the brand name to see if they register that domain. So in this case, PassTheCan.com. Redbull does Not own PassTheCan.com as it’s owned by
Alcoa Inc. Alcoa Inc. is the world’s third largest producer of aluminum, behind Rio Tinto Alcan and Rusal, with corporate headquarters in New York City.

It appears that PassTheCan.com likely forwarded to a Facebook campaign of some sort but the domain doesn’t really resolve well and timesout. If Redbull does end up using
“RedbullPassTheCan.com” it will likely drive some traffic to Alcoa Inc.

DNStination Inc.

Registered the domain name WeAreHr.org likely on behalf of a client. The domain WeAreHr.com is listed for sale at BuyDomains.com with a $3,888 buy it now price currently.

WeAreHr.net is currently on expired domain auction at GoDaddy.com as is WeAreHr.info .

AOL Inc.

Registered the domain name AudienceTalk.net and .org as well as AudienceTalks.com, AudienceTalks.net and .org. They registered AudienceTalk.com on 1/18/2012 which forwards to
advertising.aol.com and the plural doesn’t resolve yet but they did set name servers. This is a very likely sign they are going to be using AudienceTalk.com in some way and likely soon.

Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc.

Registered the domain name Transition-to-tomorrow.com and it does not own the non-hyphen version which was created in 2010 and is owned by a “Pam Perry” according to whois.

JLL is a professional services and investment management company specializing in real estate. Global headquarters are located in Chicago, with an operational remit covering the Americas
regional market.

Pfizer Inc.

Hand registered the domain name UnderstandingChronicPain.com

Interestingly, the domain name ChronicPain.com was recently in “redemption services” via GoDaddy and likely due to the fact the domain doesn’t have a valid registrant email address. From
what I can tell, the domain wasn’t renewed on 4/19/2014 when it expired. It appears the domain was renewed on 5/14/2014 by “PainLaw” but the registrant email address is still invalid in
whois..

If you visit ChronicPain.com, there is a header bar on a GoDaddy landing page that includes: This domain is for sale! If you wish to make an offer, please contact [email protected]

PainKillers.com holds the same message atop it’s site.

CellExpress Inc.

Purchased the domain name inop.com from SnappyDomains.com via Sedo for $2,100

GetAGig.com

Which was purchased likely around 1/17/2012 (yes, 2.5 years ago) via Sedo for $2,250 just updated whois information. They are very lucky the domain didn’t expire on them, as the expire
date was 12/31/2014 and it appears that somebody was nice enough to renew it for them, maybe Sedo.

MyGoodParty is the GetAGig.com domain buyer, who is not displayed in whois.

Comcast

Likely registered the domain name BigBitesSummer.com

AHL Investments Pty Ltd

Registered several variations of “Credit Savvy”

creditsaavy.com
creditsaavy.net
creditsaffy.com
creditsavee.com
creditsavi.com

creditsavvyaustralia.com
creditsavy.net
creditsawy.com

CreditSavvy.com is currently for sale at Afternic and whois is under privacy.

Salem Communications Corporation

Registered the domain name ScandalStocks.com

Salem Communications is an American radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher based in Camarillo, California, targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values. They use the domain Salem.cc (which may be the first .cc domain I have ever seen rank #1 on Google. LOL

Nothing screams Religion and Family, like Scandal!

Edwards Lifesciences, LLC (Edwards.com)

Registered the domain name YourNewHeartValve.com . They also registered NewHeartValve.net . According to whois records, it appears they likely purchased NewHeartValve.com on or about 12/5/2012. SapienHeartValve.com was also registered.

PepsiCo, Inc

Registered the domain name BattleForOregon.com . I couldn’t find anything publicly about this at this time, but I thought the domain registration would have been a political party, but it was Pepsi.

The Coca-Cola Company

Registered the domain name DietCokeRegal.com

Johnson & Johnson

Registered the domain name ProjectJake.com

Young & Rubicam

Registered the domain name TheVanishingGame.com . I did write about Y&R yesterday, so I’m not sure if this is related or not.

Viacom International Inc.

Registered the domain name AceMcFumbles.com . I was thinking McDonalds prior to seeing the owner, and maybe a likely ad related to the upcoming NFL season, but Viacom likely registered this domain due to the character in the upcoming Bella and The Bulldogs, Ace McFumbles.

  1. That’s actually a pretty cool way to keep track on companies, never really thought about that. I know people typically follow patents which are registered but didn’t really think to much about domain names, cool post Jamie.
