Here is another round of my company domain name movers of domains recently registered, purchased or simply moving by some of the largest companies in the world. Not a huge list today as activity seem rather slow for some reason but I was able to at least dig ups some.
Anheuser-Busch InBev S.A.
Registered the domain name BeerInControl.com
CBS Radio Inc.
Has acquired the domain name FantasyFootballRadio.com for an undisclosed amount.
The Coca-Cola Company
Has acquired the domain name Finley.com from its past owner for an undisclosed amount. The domain was registered in 1994. Coke did announce on February 17, 2014 a new product launch in
France of a product called “Finley”.
Amazon Technologies, Inc.
Registered some domain names to put up a fight with the newly created “Authors United” and registered it’s own term “Readers United”… AmazonReadersUnited.com, KindleReadersUnited.com and
KDPReadersUnited.com .
On or about 8/7/2014 Amazon has also acquired the domain name ReadersUnited.com from its past owner. Amazon quickly put a site/letter on the domain. Here is some more info on that.
Shell International Petroleum Company Ltd
Back on July 15, 2014 I suspected that Shell may have purchased the domain name SHLX.com using CSC Corporate Domains (for around $32,000) and today they confirmed it. Whois updated to
SHELL.
Lincoln Financial Group
Registered the domain name WorthSavingFor.com
Unknown
The domain name LeDe.com may have been acquired as the domain name has switched to MarkMonitors DNStination Inc. . Name servers have stayed the same (at leaset for now) and the domain
resolves to where it did prior, but that doesn’t mean much.
Visa International Service Association
Has revealed they were behind the registration of the domain name ThatsOurEverywhere.com , a domain that was registered on 11/11/2013 and has held generic whois data up until this point.
Thats and Our are not a good combo as it can come across as That Sour. This is an interesting read how companies are looking to “shorten” ad slogans. With companies like Visa using #everywhere and It’s Everywhere in the US for an example.
McDonald’s Corporation
Registered the domain name EngageMCD.com .
RPM International Inc.
Registered the domain name DeckProtectPlus.com for a likely new product.
RPM International Inc is an American multinational holding company with subsidiaries that manufacture and market high-performance specialty coatings, sealants and building materials.
Funny enough, a company by the name of Deck Protect Plus LLC, registered the domain name DeckProtectPlusLLC.com in May 2014 and didn’t have the insight to register DeckProtectPlus.com at
that time. Now they have a little domain name education that including LLC in your domain is “OK” but also owning the exact match name without LLC is a wise investment. It’s really a wise
investment when the domain was available at the time of registering the DeckProtectPlusLLC.com domain.
Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation
Has registered the domain name SuspectEveryone.com
Sold Domains
I’m going on a limb and saying that TurnCommerce (hugedomains / namebright) has purchased the domain name DigitalStamp.com from Chad Folkening of eCorp.
