    Domain Expire Date

    Hi,

I just need to confirm one simple thing.

I am having a domain name say www.example.com

    the expire date is 15/07/2014

And after one month 16/08/2014 I received a email from Google Webmaster that site is not available.

I checked the domain panel and shocked to see that I am not able to renew the domain.

I just need to ask why the registrar not disable the access of the domain after the 15/07/2014.

    And

Why the registrar do not send renewal reminder.

I know what legal steps I can take against the registrar and where to file case against him.

I guess they did send renewal reminders. Are you sure you didnt block them for some reason? Usually a domain is never reachable after expiration.

As for a legal case, I wouldnt know what that should be based on. It is your responsibility to take care of a renewal in due time.

After that time the domain would enter a redemption period for 30 days in which you have the chance to redeem the domain by contacting your current registrar. Although redemption is much more expensive than the standard renewal price. After the redemption period, it won't be registered anymore and will need re-registering. If you do a whois lookup on the domain, it will give you more information about its status.
