Flock: Directi Launches Business Chat Product

Divyank Turakhia, co-founder of Directi, announced that his company just launched a chat service targeting business users. The service is called Flock, and the company is using the Flock.CO domain name for this new  business app.

Here’s what Div had to say about Flock in a Facebook post announcing the launch:

“Excited about the launch of our new cool product: http://flock.co – awesome chat service for businesses – teams, groups and workplaces. Runs on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, Chrome. Switch devices and pick up right where you left off.”

For companies that have employees all over the world (like Directi for example), Flock would seem to be a helpful app that can allow employees to communicate with each other regardless of where they are located and what systems or devices they use. Flock works on a variety of devices and operating systems, so someone using a Macbook pro could easily communicate with a co-worker using an Android device. I have not yet tried Flock, so I can’t speak to its features and ease of use.

YourStory.com has a more comprehensive article about Flock, complete with information about its genesis and how the service can be effectively used.

Within the last year, Directi was acquired by Endurance International Group in a reported 9 figure deal. I assume this transaction made founders Divyank and his brother Bhavin Turakhia very wealthy. It’s cool to see the two of them continue to work hard to grow their company even after the acquisition was closed since they are probably doing it more for the excitement of growing a business and building their company than they are doing it to make money.

If you try out Flock and want to share your thoughts on the service, you are welcome to do so in the comment section.
