Question any one using ovh for domains?

their prices are some of the lowest, i think only internetbs is lower, but ovh offer few extras like a 2GB mail box

i like their prices, and i think ovh is generally a solid and trustworthy company

what is making me concerned, is that their website is all over the place, i seriously think they should drop their per region websites and just keep one face for the company

anyway, if you used them for domains please describe your experience, do you recommend them, do they offer good dns management tools? is it easy to transfer out? do they send domain renewal emails consistently and well before the expiry?

The reason why they have multiple sites, is actually because of entity split, they operate separately, each entity from time to time offers different features (Which can be related to legal concerns from time to time).
And as of 1st of January 2015, it makes sense to have separate sites anyway, due to a new law in EU.

It might be confusing with many sites indeed, but there's usually good reasons for it (Maybe not from a customer point of view, but from a company point of view).

Other than that, their domain management is fine.

It might be best to go with a dedicated domain provider like enom, hexonet, eurodns.
They would provide a better service in the long run.

I'm using OVH for all of my domains (5 of them...only 4 currently in use though).

I've never had any issues with them, although having said that, I have never used their dns servers. I run the DNS for all the domains through my dedicated server (also hosted with OVH).

Initial DNS updates to point them to my dns servers were quick enough, and the OVH control panel tells you the stages in updating it, along with the estimated time for completion (at their end at least....I know propogation will take longer in most cases).

The domain name registration service provided by OVH is no different from the service provided by by the three companies you mention.

Never had a problem with OVH. I used to run a VPS with OVH France for years prior to having developing my own provider.
