I am having trouble while registering domain with godaddy so I contacted via support live chat option. I have been told to give whole card number while calling to them via customer care number.

So my question is should I give my full card number to them? It's like puting whole balance at risk for the sake of few pennies. (but I must find any solution as my a/c is having problem twice)..

Thanks

I would be cautious. Last four digits should be enough.

I gave only last 4 digits. Its enough.

They should not asked you full number, last 4 are enough, however they usually ask for photo ID.

I have never been asked by GD to share my cc details. So surprised someone is asking you for the full cc detail. I would tread with care. what issue are you exactly facing with your cc?

Indeed last 4 digits it's enough.
I mostly use PayPal rather than credit card in order to avoid revealing my credit card number in a whole or in part.
The only downside in using PayPal is that Godaddy's most valuable coupons are only available through credit card usage.

I tried to register a .com domain with a coupon (which worked fine for other) that worked for me too but after giving card details I got following error twice (as I tried twice with a gap of a day) and my card got debit twice ($1.13+$1.13)

Hi, I think the issue is being faced because you are setting currency as $ and then using a debit card to make payment. As per Indian laws any credit or debit card transaction that does not go through 3DSecure Code is invalid. Hence, when the transaction takes place it goes to the bank website, authorizes the payment but after authorization there is no confirmation (as the $ payment will not route through 3D Secure Code.

What you will need to do is > set the currency as INR and then try making payment. I think it should go off successfully.

I know I have 3d secure password but I usually make payment to many sites in USD sometimes with or without 3d secure verification. Like Entropay, Name.com, Dynadot etc I have paid more than $200 to various sites in amounts like $20, $50 etc. Even paid to Godaddy before in USD

Yes, My first choice was INR but when I did choose that, following error appeared thus I selected USD (as my previous payments was successful)

I got this error..

Exactly, working fine (see cart value is Rs.71 = $1.17) but when I click Place Your Order button above error occurs.

Just talked with GD customer representative, She told me there is no foot mark about my order so no transaction has taken place.

And I told her that I use coupon code so cart amount is reduce to Rs.73 then she said any order will not be processed if it's less than Rs.100/- ($1.62)

If order is not placed then I will receive this amount within 5 to 7 business days in my bank. Let's see what happens, will update this thread.

Going to try again once more by changing country.. hope this will work.

hmm never heard of this rule earlier. I have successfully made payments of less <100. Do you have paypal? then you can try processing your payment via Paypal if this doesnot work. Really I am not sure why its not working because never had payment issues with GD

I have also paid >100 before to GD, can't understand why I'm facing issues now.

Yes I have paypal but because of blessings of reserve (central) bank of India, We can't keep a penny in paypal a/c (it is forced to auto withdraw in default bank account).. We can't even send received money directly before auto withdrawal.

Thus I use Entropay but there is another issue with them. They accept only up to $100 deposits (and I have reached that limit) and facing issue to verify my card with them.

Somehow I have managed to use 0.99 cents coupon code by setting another country and currency which worked fine. (not sure legal or not). I will use same technique for further purchases.

As representative said,

Let's see what happens, If I they are giving refund it's good otherwise I will consider it as a donation to GD, after all I will not put my whole balance at risk for the sake of few pennies.

Usually when I get that error, I keep getting the same error even if I delete everything from cart and use a different code. What worked for me in those situations is adding a working global code (especially the ones that start with SAS) to cart, proceed to payment page, go back to cart without paying and delete everything in the cart. Then, re-add everything and use a different coupon.

One more thing that works is bringing the total amount to $5+. For example, sometimes when I have domain renewals coming up, I do the .99 purchasing with it.

It's not compulsory to use local currency to make payments. But if you chose a foreign billing address, it might be illegal.

Yes but you can make payment via Paypal from the CC/Debit Card attached to your paypal account. The money will directly be charged by Paypal to your CC/Debit Card.

Say Pay Via Paypal > and start the transaction > it will take you to Paypal site > login and then it will say Choose the Credit / Debit Card for Payment. Once done it will charge you to that CC / Debit Card. It will not deduct balance from your Paypal Account.
Try and hopefully it should work.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have bulk problems.. as I said avove

My default debit card not working with Paypal so I use virtual credit card provided by Entropay. What I do is I deposit certain amount of money in my Entropay virtual credit card and use that Virtual credit card in my paypal to make purchases.

Why I can't use Entropay now?
As Entropay does not allow to deposit more than $100 from unverified card. I am facing issues with verification also as I have already deposited and spent $100
