Hi everyone.
I recently received an email from Namerific about a few domains I submitted. They rejected all. But one domain had a comment attached saying they will agree to upload the domain only if i'll give them my own logo and description, plus 8$ fee for the listing. Would you recommend me to do so?
Moreover, this kind of comment isn't ordinary and does not come with most rejected domains, correct?

Thank for any opinion given.

I've never seen this but others may have. Have you tried Brandbucket and Brandroot?
There is a Namerific thread, post it there too.

Thank you for the reply. What would you do if you had given this kind of opportunity?

In principle I don't like it. Ask them if they will reduce their commission if you do it.
If you know someone who can do you a cheap ($) logo that meets their quality standards and you do not think you can get it listed at BB or BR then it may be worth considering. I am more NO than YES though.

I do know someone who can make me a great logo. I'll ask them via email. Thanks for your advice.

Namerific don't charge upfront, any cost to you is included in the sale price provided the name sells.

Sounds like a scam E-Mail, check via your account directly.

Yeah umm In the website it just says the domain was declined BUT the same email notified me about the other domains I have submitted. I think it is best to ask namerific itself about this kind of email.

Yep, E-Mail the support address and let them know about the fake E-Mail so they can warn sellers.

It's not fake, they want $8 now. But they will supply logo and description.
Basically, what they are saying, name doesn't meet our standards, but for $8 we will list it.

Don't pay listing fee, instead renew domain for another year. That will give you 2 years to make a sale.

I've never had an E-Mail like that and I tried to list one just the other day. If it is true then it completely defeats the purpose of their standards.

That's crazy. BTW they clearly mentioned they will not take part for logo and description handling.. Are you certain it's better to renew for 2 years?

If you need to pay $8, give them logo and description, you don't need them at all.

I can't copy email content because when I saw $8 I autodeleted all.

You don't need to renew domain now, but when renewal come knocking on your door you will be pissed that you gave them $8.

Oh, and 1 year will pass really fast.

I checked carefully the last chunk of approvals / rejections that I had from Namerific yesterday. Indeed, there were some names that had this addition to the usual rejection message:

Comment: Hi! Your domain did not receive initial approval, but we can approve it if you assist with the logo design/writing costs. Please send $8 to our paypal email ([email protected]) and we will get the domain live on the site for you. Be sure to put the domain name in the subject line when you make the paypal payment. Thanks!

Hence I can confirm the topic starter's story. Yesterday, some of my names were accepted, some totally rejected, and some rejected with this comment.

It is worth noting that no logo or description were asked. The only thing they asked was a listing fee of $8, similar to $10 that other marketplaces ask.

Basically, they are telling you your name is worthless, but you can still list it for $8.

Sort of, but they do not say that for all names that they reject, only for those name that are "almost fit".

I have had names accepted there and never heard of 'almost fit". You can use iGoldrush and Flippa too with no logos and no listing charges.
