What do you folks think about niches?

Trends like the ones you describe are generally a huge waste of money. It is better to focus on established and historically rewarding keywords of popular businesses.

If you are talking about Niche sites, then there is big growth potential. If you are going to have one then one thing that will help it achieve success is to have a niche site in a field you know something about. That way you understand that particular niche personally.

Too often I have come across niche sites that are ran by people who know nothing about what they are talking about. In that kind of situation people in that particular niche will realize this and not visit that site again.

Try to stick with something you know to help improve you will have a successful niche site.

If you are talking about niche domain names then the key is to find good available names to reg in a niche that is hot/popular at that time. You have to do a lot of research, there is no easy and quick find of something of value.

OK thanks. So I guess I can wait on that. I was kind of thinking about using 2 of my domains that WOULD fit a particular niche, Earningdividends. Com for investing and thinkgreenetc. Com for medical mj. Lots of keywords for both. I'm looking into affiliate programs now. 10 years ago I could tell you all about the latter

If you know something about a particular niche then go for it and develop them.
