As I reported, I sold new home sales .org and got word today, that Godaddy received full pymt, so I can start the transfer/release process to the new owner.

Tech questions about this process-

1) I assume that they would have to have a Hosting act already setup, or no?

2)If they have a hosting act with Godaddy for example, but not one with namecheap(who is where I have the act regged at)any difference in the process?

3) I assume if the person bought it through Godaddy, they have a Godaddy act already?

4) I am thinking about selling domains on Ebay, any difference in the process there?

5) If somebody on Ebay bought my domain, but didn't have a Hosting act anyplace, how would that work? Would they first have to set one up someplace?

6) Lastly, am I correct to assume that the Buyer assumes any costs of getting the domain into their hands?

Thanks

I could answer all of these questions, only I think you've got me set to ignore..... so I'd have to know that I'm not wasting my time first.

Are you selling a domain or a website?

If its only domain and GD is the registrar then no need to transfer manually by byourself. GD will take care of everything.

If its a website you have to give website source code along with domain transfer.

Don't get confusion with buyer's hosting account.

Thanks for the info. I am selling the domain, not a site. I regged it with Namecheap, and sold it thru Godaddy. Namecheap has a policy that the domain must stay registered with them for a full 60 days before being transferred to another registrar, so the person I sod it to will have to initially setup a Namecheap act so I can push it to them in the meantime.

That's not a namecheap policy, it's an ICANN policy. You can't transfer domains within 60 days of registering or transferring it no matter who is your registrar.
