domains .Guru Lost 1,624 Domain Names Today

NameStats is showing that .guru lost 1,624 domain names today because of expiring domains that were removed from the zone file.

.Guru now has 76,689 domains after losing domains for 10 consecutive days. .Guru last high was on the 26th of February when it had 80,274 domain names.

.Guru was the first 'generic' New gTLD to launch and a lot of people bought domains just for fun or because a desirable keyword was available. And .Guru is what some people call a "vanity" or "novelty" extension.

This was super predictable, Guru was keyword chased hard by people itching to join the New gTLD revolution. Makes only sense they 11 months on have other ideas for the renewal money.

Also deleting the domain one month early the best way to stop some phantom auto renewal

but .pro is a simply a better, shorter, more memorable extension for professionals

The best way would apply for the new gTLD zone files and compare them daily to see the deleted domains. There surely will be more to come in the next 45 days. (Note: unsure if a registry can deny you access, membership doesn't insinuate being able to download all, just the ability to apply)
