Offshore Domain Registrars? Any legit ones?
Looking to transfer a domain from godaddy offshore. Anyone know of a proper, known website that we can transfer it too that is offshore?

When Internet Bahamas was bought, I put together a list of offshore domain registrars for those who were concerned about InternetBS' new ownership. The page has a link to a thread on another forum where there was a more in-depth discussion.
In reality, it's very difficult to measure the integrity of an offshore registrar. In fact, it's difficult to even quantify integrity.
Also keep in mind that .com and many other top-level domains are owned by US authorities (which I presume are the ones whose influence you seek to reduce). US authorities can seize a .com domain even if it were registered with a North Korean registrar, simply by going to the domain registry, which in the case of .com is the US-based company Verisign.
