Hi,

As new extensions comes public, I see that some extensions are very expensive.
.pr is 1369$
.amsterdam is 850$

Why such domains are that much expensive and who decides this decision?

Each individual registry decides.

Okay but why they put 1300$ to register a .pr domain for example?

Short answer: Some registries suck. They think they can make more money if they charge a lot of money for their domains.

ICANN just generally charges a 0.18 cents fee per domain name.

Yeah mate. I agree. $1000 is ridiculous pricing. Better to grab a .com.. .99 cents GoDaddy with a coupon code. Just add <domain name><pr>.com - It's much better and obviously cheaper.. in my opinion. :p

Oh i thought you knew, my accountant must have forgotten you. I have been set as the head dungeon master. Erp Domain master** -- right, in charge of pricing all domains. If it dont look good to me, its not wroth anything. I swore everyone got the memo? :) (for free domain pricing or roasting, feel free to PM me. just look in the mirror and say magic missile 3 times. Ops, i mean, Magic estimator, because im magic, just like estibot. It told me x domain was worth 50$..i scratched my head when i saw x domain sold finally at ending cost of 27,500$USD on Flippa.com. Compared to that, yes, i am Domaingeon Master)

Unless im getting LL or N .pr/amsterdam , i would likely throw my laptop and buy a new one to justify spending that money vs a registration fee. Hmm, where do you go to register? Please do tell, as ill need to steer clear of that company O.O;;
