I found out about this story quite by accident, but it's an important and cautionary tale, as this can and does happen. Sites like Flippa are a party to it, and especially Godaddy and HostMonster should be better equipped to deal with this---instead of hiding behind their legal departments. Remember to change your passwords too!

Here's the link to the story: http://mashable.com/2014/04/02/ramshackle-glam-hacking/

Good article, but if someone reads between the lines, there could be many Escrow scams...

Cool story. She doesn't know how it happened, so it can happen again.
2 suggestions on "what you can do" each with 5 points. It's well written article. Promoting what? It only has one link, must be insurance.

Well, in the article she explains how it happened. It was a lapse of security at her registrar: EuroDNS.

What I found most interesting is that the thief targeted a lifestyle blog. Makes you realize that you need to be prepared as this can definitely happen to you.

I got suckered in. Reading article that is 1 year old. Why are you bumping old thread?

Note to myself: check the date before reading! Check the date!

Now if you will excuse me, I'll go bang my head against the wall. 100 times!
