domains Mike Mann Does It Again: $12,000 Sale From a Domain Acquired For $7.50

Spaceship Spaceship
I love to follow Mike Mann's incredible sales figures. Last week, he announced the sales of HumanEdge.com, Fun.co, and IndustrialHeat.com for a combined $132,500.

This week, Mike has announced yet another sale; IncredibleWomen.com sold for $12,000 - a domain name he registered in 2009 for $7.50. Yes, an incredibly low purchase price and an excellent Return on Investment over 6 years.

The WhoIs details haven't been updated to show the new owner, and Google doesn't give any immediate hints as to who the new owner could be.

IncredibleWomen.net was registered earlier this month by a Matthew Klein of New York. Perhaps this is the new owner.

I think that Mike's sales are very interesting to follow as they give other investors a lot of motivation. However, it is worth noting that Mike owns hundreds of thousands of domain names, so sales like this can happen more frequently than if you own 100 or 500 domain names.

Update: Mike has also confirmed the sale of EdgeMusic.com for $15,000. A domain he acquired for $70 in 2011.

This is incredible, and also shows how patience works in domaining. It is quite interesting to keep such assets & renew for years on like this, till they sell at such incredible prices.

He owns DomainMarket.com - that's where all his sales originate. I'm not sure whether his team does outbound sales.

His have outbound sales team to send emails but he's the only person to reply to buyer's(not allowed his team to discuss with buyers). i read it from one of his interview on domainsherpa.

I love reading sale stories like this one because it goes to show you sometimes you just really need to have patience and give it time for the domain to sell. I know we all want to flip it quickly but if you know you have a great domain then make sure you give it time to maximize your profits.

Shows just how much return on your investment you can really get by simply investing in the right type of domains. I am sure Mike Mann must of had doubts over 4 years of not selling this domain but he was able to focus and simply wait it out. Now we see the pay off.

What is his renewal cost for couple hundred thousand domain names compared to yearly sales totals brought in?

Nobody wants to discuss it. Let's marry-go-round.

No one ever does. That's why half the people fail. It's awesome to see a sale like this but when you figure in the bulk cost. employee overhead as he has even by people contacting, etc then in ratio of cost per profits guy spending that godaddy code and selling that domain for couple grand actually did way better.

Don't forget what the author highlighted in the article. Owning hundreds of thousands of names increases your likely hood of obtaining more sales inquires which in turns increases the chances you'll make a sale. You have to take these with a grain of salt.

They could have done outbound marketing as well.

It does show that you can find affordable names and make a nice ROI.

His ROI would have been 7 times higher if he had used GD coupons
