  • Is there is complete list somewhere I can check out where I can list my domains for sale? Places like SEDO,Namejet,DNS, Afternic and likes of it... What are these platforms called? Aftermarket?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
By simply doing your research in this forum you will come across detailed explanations on all of those Market places (they are known as this). You will see hands on experiences on some of these and how some people succeeded using them.

Here is a basic list of the market places you can take advantage of:

  • Godaddy Auctions
  • Sedo
  • Afternic
  • Flippa
  • NameJet Auctions
  • Forum Auctions (You can list your domains on here as well)

Now like I mentioned above this Forum is full of knowledge so just copy and paste the names of these market places and see what additional information you can find on them. The more you learn the better prepare you will be to list your domains and get them sold.

I have better experience of selling my domains here on NP. Your domains should be worth selling. Every domain does not sell.

When using these market places, don't you concentrate on selling primarily to resellers/brokers ?

May be I am wrong, but it seems to me you have very little chances to reach small business owners that might be interested in a name like CityProfession (eg: SeattleFlorist.com) unless they are actively looking for a domain name.

For example:

Actually I listed all my domains at SEDO, thats one of the (or maybe the) biggest buy / park / sell domain platform.
Note, that you must sell it via SEDO as long as you listed it at SEDO - according to SEDOs terms & conditions it is not allowed to sell it via another platforms while / as long as you listed it at SEDO.

I think this rule is the same at most of the selling platforms, it is logical.

If you want to sell them to the end users at the prices you want, you just have to let end users reach you (preferably by parking, not sure if there are other means). There had been several discussions on forums if you reach out to them (bottom line being you are cutting the price by half if you reach out to them). Not sure how many end users come to auction sites/forums. End user prices are at generally 5-10 times multiples of reseller prices.

This is indeed true. But with the development of the internet and technology many companies and businesses are adapting to this method of buying domains. Although you will come across many who other domainers who just want to resell there is a good percentage of actual companies looking for a specific type of domain.
