I did a bulk search and found Cloud.Club was available... So off to my cart and reality sinks in... Of course it is for $14,899.99

What has happened to you in your domaining career on a name you thought you might have owned from hand registering, drops or won at auction only for it to be re-registered?

HahahaI feel your pain…

I had games.co.nz all approved with GoDaddy payment accepted and 10mins later… Sorry domain not available!!!

I’m sure there will be many stories of this happening.

Classic story made my day lol

Yeah, I cant remember exact names, but if they are available, its usually because of the price so never get excited with its says "Available" in nice green text because there is always a reason for it

Yeah there was just this little inkling of hope there could have been that slight chance like Bruce Marler who hand registered Credit.Club... I can happen but obviously not to me on this day lol http://domaingang.com/domain-news/goofing-around-man-hand-registered-credit-club/

It just doesnt happen, you see an article that once in a blue moon and if you think of the millions of people registering domains, not to mention registrars reserving names

You have more chance of being eaten by a shark or struck by lightning :D

I totally agree you... Although I live in hope at times as I did manage to pick up a drop yesterday Living.Company to use on one of my sites. Sold on sedo in 2014, the odds wasn't like a shark bite or lightning more like a mosquito bite that a good find can still possibly happen ;)

Yeah, it depends what people call premium keywords, Living to me is ok, but doesn't suit the .Company extension that well

Just my opinion though

You might want to find out the renewal fee before you register it ;)

$9,200.00 for the first year at 101domain and then $1.00 renewal per year after that. What a steal on renewal! LOL

$50 annually so registered for 5yrs

Renewal is only $50USD annually and I have it for 5 years but its a +10yr small investment which by then should sell for more than $500USD with a past sale of 1yr ago $1999. It will be developed for virtual real estate :)

I think godaddy sucks at times and most often while doing bulk search. several available names become 'unavailable' and several registered names show up as 'available'. Only in check out page we get to know!! I wasted a lot of my time shortlisting domains this way only to find they're already registered!!

The future of good living and real estate will be my direction with this by looking into living by the way of virtual reality. The future of real estate will only increase in demand and the future of virtual viewing for living anywhere in the globe will be in huge demand starting with the Asian market looking outside to invest in property. I like Living.Company because it covers many niches in this sector and will be very easy to remember and the name doesn't get lost with houses, housing, homes, real estate, realtor and the endless other gtlds names in this sector. The name might not match premium key words but it will be easily remembered (IMO).

Only time will tell... I register names with the idea on how to build it into a business, and give it a go with a friend to build them out ourselves in our spare time :)

No it was under bulk search saying it was available. I added it to my cart and that's when the price was shown... It was the initial thought of seeing it available an thinking maybe a possible realistic price with renewal. I was dreaming!!!

That has happened to me a few times. I refuse to register premium domain names on principle, it feels too much like kicking up a vig.

The registry isn't doing any of the coding, any of the marketing, any of the customer service, any of the content. So no, they don't deserve an exaggerated chunk of my income from the domain name.

The ones that are only premium for registration and then normal renewal fees, those I might consider. That's no different than buying from a third party. But the high yearly renewal fees, no.

I have actually been able to capture several keywords in different extensions at cost (no premium for the purchase or the renewal). I flat out refuse to pay any kind of premium for an unproven extension so ever name that I have picked up has been at cost and at renewal cost.

Finding the gems after launch time is nearly impossible as many have indicated above. With a little luck and persistence, I think a person can find some real gems if they are there right at the moment of launch. Some always fall through the cracks.

Just my opinion

Cheers
