Wondering why my 6n.com had no offers

I recently put my domain up for auction, 803890.com, and just wanting some feedback from other folks here as to why there was no interest.

The thread had 110 views, and 6n.com are selling here on NamePros. Mostly for around mid $xx and some very low $xxx.

Other 6n.com have sold which have the number "4" in, which I don't understand as these domains are currently only really lucrative for the Chinese market, and "4" is very bad, means "death" and other bad things. Given the overall low value of 6n.com, I'm puzzled as to why ones with 4 in are selling so well when this alone lowering the value should make them almost worthless (IMO, no offence).

Mine is all good numbers, with 2 "8"s and a zero at the end.
As per my thread:
  • (8) Prosper/wealth
  • (0) Money
  • (3) Rise/Born
  • (8) Prosper/wealth
  • (9) Harmony/Forever
  • (0) at the end this is good (can double the value).
I see mine as no worse than others which have sold, and better in some ways.

There were a fair few other 6n.com auctions at the same time as mine, and some bulk 6n.com auctions, which seemed to attract the most attention. So maybe my timing was wrong? Or perhaps because I'm a new(ish) member?

But 110 views and not one offer also makes me wonder if I'm missing something, so welcome some feedback :)

Cheers

@wdexw
$15 (just above reg fee). Could this be the issue? I did this because I wanted reg fee (plus a little back or pointless selling it) and because I could see that when they were selling it was for well above this.

(have edited and linked to the original thread, I see no issue with this as it's now closed)

Lower your starting price and I am sure it will attract more bids. Yours is a good name and can surely exceed $15. It is always good to start auction from $1.

Individually, the figures are 'cool'. As a combination, what exactly is the message? That may explain the apparent (temporary?) lack of interest. MO.

Ok thanks all, I'll try again with a lower starting price. Trouble is I don't want to sell it for less than a given price (at least reg fee). Suppose will just chance that, seems they end up above $15 anyway.

I presume increments of $2 would also scare people off with this particular domain. But what about $5 dollars start?

@bonavee, I agree this doesn't have a complete message, like "prosper forever in money", but neither do most other 6ns which have sold for mid $xx. One I saw which sold for mid $xx said something about "death forever".

Domains with 0 are not welcome in china, except with two zero or more together~~

@mishi "0" at the end is very welcomed, and as per my main point, people are buying such domains with "4" in which is 50 times worse than 0
;)

Plz share the URL of your domain auction

@mishi It's linked in the first post above :) Don't want to link to it too much or it'll look like I'm promoting it or something

Nope.
At the time I noticed there were a lot of other 6n.com domain sales going in the same NamePros auction area, so perhaps timing plus what others said about the high starting price.

About 10~20$ in China market

All things considered, it's the 0 on the inside. For now, those are less desirable and even at $15 start, most folks will still look elsewhere.

No repeating pattern, basically just one of many, it's not a bad domain, it's just not a great one. People are searching for something "special"

I feel yours is good no. 0 is at end is surely good but the one at the meeting affecting the value a bit. Further there are two '8' in the string which certainly make the string lucky. It should easily cross $15.

0 is no good in china

000000.com =$28,000 in 2014 (namebio) ......whois shows chinese owner

Times are changing?

That's the pattern.

What do you think 888888.com could likely fetch a significant amount more. ;)

I agree start with $1 and use 72 hour auction close.

For a domain such as this, start the auction with the lowest possible value such as $1. This creates attraction.

I think that exact combination means you will soon go bankrupt in Chinese culture. Thats probably why.

Maybe because of timing, people are willing to take risks(bid) around 9pm and 1am.
