question What the meaning of (Comment: Automatic Bid)

I am pretty sure this means that someone placed their max bid in an auction so they don't have to sit in front of the computer to outbid someone.

Whenever you place a bid, as long as it's LESS than their already placed bid/bids, you will automatically get outbid.

Omar is correct. Someone previously put in a "proxy bid" which is an amount higher than the current high bid. If someone comes in and doesn't make a bid higher than the proxy bid, then they will be automatically outbid.

You just put the max amount you want to spend for the auction. Lets say its $100.

You bid $100.

If the auction is at $12. And someone bids the next bid up (which would be $17), you will AUTOMATICALLY outbid them because you have your bid of $100. This will continue until another bidder goes past your $100 bid.
