WHOIS is not the ideal way for checking domain availability. Use the Domain-Check function of your registrar. Most bigger reseller registrars offer an API for this. 10k querries/hour is quite a lot, you may need to distribute this over several registrars (different source IPs as well)

It's going to be a very impractical way to check for domain name availability. Most regular whois services would inevitably request for captcha. There are workarounds using proxy servers, but I think this is too much work for checking domain availability.

You can easily check by Whicru software.
There are available free version for .com and .ru extensions
or
Pro versions for other extensions
