    Nameserver order

Recently I changed nameservers for one of my domains. The nameservers' hostnames were not typical ns1.something (for primary) and ns2.something (for secondary server), but contained different numbers (e.g. ns12, ns23). The thing is, the one with higher number was supposed to be primary (therefore: ns23 first, ns12 second), but the order was then automatically sorted alphabetically (i.e. lower number is shown first).
I'm currently at InternetBS so I don't know if this is related to them specifically, or applies to all registrars. I haven't changed nameservers that often in the last ten years or so, but I'm pretty sure that it was always supposed to be accepted in the order you enter them. Any idea if this could cause issues?

I've had any sort of nameservers and not just ns1-ns2.hostname.com, the double-digits numbers are not a problem; I've also never heard of primary nameservers, NS are a set where each one has equal valor.
If you are really worried, though, you can always contact InternetBS and ask them; I'm sure they'll be happy to sort out any doubts you have.
    My "ranking" is kidding.
I'm just a humble client, here to seek help and guidance from the true experts.

Are both of these nameservers pointing to same DNS server? Nameserver orders will not cause any issue if both of them are pointing to same server.

No, they're different. If I check the data with "dig", the SOA field correctly displays the "primary" one, but the two NS fields are in "alphabetical" order. Again, I don't know if this is still as important as it was years ago (primary vs. secondary), but it doesn't hurt to clear things up.

As long as the nameservers are assigned IP's and resolving, there should not be any issues.

I am not so sure about that. However to check name server orders shouldn't be any problem. Just see if it resolves and propagated.
