Automattic Inc., most known for WordPress, has acquired the generic domain name Jetpack.com for an undisclosed amount for its Jetpack plugin.
Automattic has been using the domain name Jetpack.me and Jetpack.com now redirects to the .me domain, at least for now.
Jetpack.com was owned by Jetpack Design for several years and on August 4, 2015 whois records switched to DigitalDNA, LLC who is a domain name broker.
On December 8, 2015 whois records switch to DNStination Inc. of MarkMonitor. Automattic is a client of corporate domain name service provider MarkMonitor.
Jetpack.com has been registered since January 19, 1996.
Considering they paid $100k for Thesis.com I imagine this sold for a nice amount!
