There are only 456,976 4L combinations.

Get ready for a serious price hike in 2016. Especially on the western premium letters.

I would expect that by June/July 2016 you'll see a floor price of $1,000 for any LLLL.com.

There's currently a temporary charade on all of these new gTLD's, but it will not last for long... There's a bunch of sales techniques and marketing strategies going into the promotion of these new gTLD's from some of the big names in this industry... Unfortunately the average domain investor/newbie will get dragged into the big charade and will ultimately lose a lot of money.

There will also be the odd startup company that tries their luck with one of the new extensions.... Startups like EatClub.com quickly realized that the .com was absolutely crucial and the .club gTLD would simply not work. Why do you think larger company's like LendingClub.com don't owner Lending.Club?.. It's simply a waste of money.

Don't be fooled. These registries are making an absurd amount of money on all these registrations and renewals, and I don't blame them for reporting the odd sale for large amounts of money and heavily promoting these gTLD's at events like Namescon. It's normal. It's an absolute gold mine for them!

Anyone who's new to the industry and feels the urge to get sucked into this money making charade, feel free to shoot me a PM or talk with other members on the forum. There are plenty of people here who are constantly helping the newer crowd.

There are those that will disagree, but the future remains in the .com extension. Invest in short generic names and ideally keep your portfolio below 100 domains. Focus on quality rather than quantity.

With the Chinese entry in its infancy, you'll start to see a huge rise in demand for the short .com domains.

Happy Sunday,
Axorees

I agree that the .com will be king for a long time to come. There are very few keywords that work with the new gtlds and most were kept back by the registries. Crazy pricing will turn the end users off to these domains for some time until the renewals get under control.

LLLL.com will go the way of LLL.com and that is up. A few hickups here and there, but now that prices have been climbing, investors will stay in that market.

Too many new gtlds are popping up and too many people are wasting their money on reg'n 3L and 4L in them. Renewals will go up or people will get tired off Donuts and uniregistry messing with them. They will drop these other LLLL domains and look to the .com market which the end user understands and will purchase before a new gtld.

Pronounceable 4L.com are highly brandable and will be highly sought after by start-ups and established companies that are always coming out with new products.
They and we, all like and agree that shorter is better. All 4L.com are gone and will never be hand reg'd again.

My friend ran across the problem of trying to come up with a new company name. Every short name that they came up with was unavailable in the domain. They went to 5L and 6L domains and still had trouble finding an available domain to reg. They ended up buying from someone.

Every single new company has to look for the domain name before they come up with their company name. 5L brandable and pronounceable domains are pretty much gone and will be bought up and held. This will make it soo hard to come up with new short names for new companies and products.

4L.com are still undervalued even at the lowest floor prices. Pronounceable/brandable 4L.com are the greatest investment for the near future.
