Single noun with a suffix/prefix or 2 words stitched together for a domain name

I am looking for a company/domain name which will be used primarily for tech consulting. Would you prefer a single word with some kind of prefix/suffix (ex: Coursera) or two words together (ex: LogicWorks)

    which one would sound professional?

Well if you don't have a company name yet, why not pick a name that is available as a .com? That way you can have CompanyName.com and not have to worry about adding random letters or extra words?

Your company name would be: "yourdomain.com" - whole word including domain name extension. I think you need to be concentrated on the level of the services instead of the domain name length. If you will be providing quality services you will be remembered even if our name consists of 3 words.
I think you need to change attitude to the process of choice.

I would probably go for the 2 words combination.

It really depends on what names you are actually comparing. 1 good word would definitely be better than 2 bad words and vice versa.
