GoDaddy Portfolio Contains 23+ 2 Letter .com’s

Yesterday I mentioned that the domain name portfolio that GoDaddy recently acquired on April 1, 2016 had 17+ 2 letter .com domain names, well I was a bit low on that number and now have discovered at least 23 of them total!

The following 23, two letter .com domain names are now listed on NameFind.com, have a similar connection via whois and or have already transferred via whois to NameFind LLC. All of them are listed on NameFind and or Afternic under seller “namefind”.

ar.com ? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
ak.com
bs.com
er.com
gh.com
hu.com ? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
jc.com
eq.com
fj.com
gk.com
uy.com? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
kr.com ? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
ov.com
ts.com
wv.com
dv.com
fh.com
lf.com
mw.com
nh.com
qc.com ? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
se.com ? No longer listed on NameFind or Afternic as of 4/7/2016 AM / Owned by NameFind
vt.com

The new “finds” to drive the number from 17 to 23 contained several domain names that were not under privacy protect but listed as owned by CentralNic LTD in the past but had changed via whois in early 2015 time frame to “Esqwire.com P.C. Domain Escrow” as the registrant and CentralNic as the admin and was using CentralNic name servers. Those domains were AR.com, HU.com, KR.com, SE.com, QC.com and UY.com.

Update 4/7/2016 AM: The following 6 domains have now been removed from NameFind/Afternic: AR.com, HU.com, KR.com, SE.com, QC.com and UY.com. They were listed last night as I verified them all. Why they are now removed, I’m not sure. (see update #2 below)

Update #2 with confirmation directly from GoDaddy, I asked why AR.com, HU.com, KR.com, SE.com, QC.com and UY.com were listed on Afternic / NameFind and then removed : “We’re still the registrant on them but they aren’t currently for sale.”

Not that 23 was enough, there are 3 more “potential” 2 letter .com’s that I currently see that may be headed to NameFind, driving the total number up to 26!

SA.com, ZA.com and RU.com all hold the same whois data of the 6 above mentioned but are not currently listed on NameFind or Afternic tying them to NameFind LLC as the other mentioned 6 were. It is not clear at this point of any of these 3 were included in the transaction.

That is a huge amount of premium 2 letter .com domain names! It is pretty rare to see 1 sell, let alone 23 or potentially more in one shot!

23 x’s $500,000 wholesale = $11,500,000 for a general idea.

As I mentioned and it’s still the case, how many domains, the quality etc are still unknown as the domains are still in the change of ownership process. I have seen about 2,000 change so far. Of those, a couple were 2 letter .com’s, most are .org domain names and 4 single letter/number domains.

  • G.org
  • 2.biz
  • P.biz
  • V.biz

I have only seen a couple one word .com domains so far but two of those are:

  • Bands.com
  • Doormat.com

As I mentioned yesterday, it is still unclear the total amount of domains that were included in the portfolio purchase by GoDaddy. The quality is looking pretty high so far!!!

I will keep an eye on this developing story and the domain names that GoDaddy got in the deal. So far it has been a challenge to find what domains were included, simply because nearly everything is under privacy protection at GoDaddy. GoDaddy is slowly changing ownership out of privacy.

  1. kind of sad to me to see so many high quality domains go to such a big company. ah well, such is life i guess.

  2. I would be seriously concerned if centralnic was selling hu.com, kr.com, se.com, ar.com, uy.com as there are many registrants of subdomains. Someone from centralnic needs to make an urgent clarification for registants of these domains as people have domain names under us.com, uk.com etc

    1. Keith,
I agree. I verified last night that the domains were listed on Afternic and NameFind and they were. Now this morning, they are NOT.

    2. Keith,

I just got confirmation from GoDaddy: I asked why AR.com, HU.com, KR.com, SE.com, QC.com and UY.com were listed on Afternic / NameFind and then removed this morning : “We’re still the registrant on them but they aren’t currently for sale.”
