    Hello,

I would like to have a Facebook Like pop up box on my wordpress website where the visitors would need to click LIKE in order to proceed and see the website and the content. I know there are many wordpress plugins which are allowing you to create a Facebook pop up box like this bellow:

But I would like to go further and make liking the facebook page A MUST if the visitors wants to see the website, otherwise they not to be able to see the website. I've seen this on other websites but I'm not sure how to make this happen.

Does someone here knows how this can be done? I'm not programmer so some wordpress plugin or something like that would help...

    Thanks a lot!

Defies logic - how can you like something you haven't seen. All they'll do is go to facebook and delete the like from their wall.

FWIW when friends have shared something that is locked down like this I just google for the video, article etc and it's always available elsewhere.

Okay maybe that's you. However, I believe that some % will click like without thinking too much and that their like will remain. Also, the owner of the website creates the rules of his website so I don't see anything wrong there.

The main question is how we can make that happen (technically)? Does anyone knows?

    Thanks!

I get what you're saying, but nobody's going to like being required to like something if it ends up being completely lame -- I found a plugin on CodeCanyon for you.

    I am too.

There is much better ways to get Facebook Likes. Forcing people to likes something is an easy step to make the pages/groups lose credibility and become unpopular. It doesn't matter how many likes you get, without interactions it would be another empty places. Not even worth for any purposes.

Facebook encourage anyone to get likes by using their recommended methods. Forcing anyone to likes pages/groups would result the pages being locked or even deleted from their server.

I usually discourage anyone from using any Content Locker (especially by Plugin/script) but it is up to you to decide. As far as I know, most Search Engine discourage webmaster from using any content locker.

Getting likes by using proper methods is much easier and it will make the page/group become more and more popular. If you didn't want to do it for yourself, at least you may want to do it for your lovely pages/groups.

Oh I agree completely -- it's terrible practice. OP, I really hope you know what you're doing.
