Webpage names missing following GoDaddy searches
Dear quorum:
I am here to testify that stealing webpage names following GoDaddy searches still occurs, as of April 2016.
I first started searching for a webpage name about two weeks ago. I made a list of names, given it to several of my friends for comments, and then searched the GoDaddy portal. Unfortunately, I waited 1-2 days to buy my top pick, only to find it - missing - not available for purchase.
At this point, I strongly favored someone, perhaps GoDaddy, bought webpages based on meta-analysis of my searches. To be sure, I waited another couple of weeks, made competely new list of putative names, and searched them on GoDaddy. This time, several of best names were missing from the original list.
Taken together, my above outlined experience and many comments on this webpage, I believe strongly that GoDaddy searches are corrupted. I cannot know if GoDaddy or some other entity is stealing putative names. This practice is immoral and it should be illegal.
Does anyone know any formal website where we can submit our complaints about GoDaddy web portal? In addition, can anyone give me instructions or recommendation on more reputable web source that can sell me webpage names?
All best.

There are so many complaints, about GoDaddy on this forum, and others, that the wisdom of the crowd would seem to me, at least hold some merit.

It is very unfortunate if this really happened. But are you sure that you typed the name correctly while it was showing available? Do a whois search to find who holds the domain and from when.

This has happened to me before also.
I never use a registrar to search for domains anymore.
