BRANDBUCKET: Approved or Published

Just wondering whether a 'published' BB domain is easier to sell on NamePros than an 'approved' BB domain.

IMO I think a published name is a better buy because it has potentially aged on the BB platform and would have a better chance of selling than a brand new name.

Opinions appreciated.

Published is better because the listing fee has already been paid. :D

@Justin Matmor Aged domain doesn't mean anything at BrandBucket, it just depends on whether the end-users browsing through BB like it or not.. A member here recently sold a one month old domain for $xxxx at BB.

For me, approved and published mean the same thing, which is that BB likes the domain. But I'll pay $10 less for a approved one because I'll have to pay listing fees, but if I like a domain, I'll buy it regardless of whether it's approved or published

I prefer domains that have not been listed yet. Some people collect stamps, while other people (usually entrepreneurs/investors) collect domains! BB has 'regulars'.... meaning return customers. These buyers tend to check BB on a regular basis looking for 'what's new'.

Also depends on when the domains was listed. (Can check by seeing how many pages back the domain is from the first page). If the domain was listed recently I'm more interested than if the domain was listed years ago.

That said, some domains are obvious winners... and it doesn't matter when it was listed. The cream always rises to the top!

Cheers!

I also believe that if an end-user is interested in a name but doesn't want to pay the retail price would probably wait and test the seller's patience particularly during the domain renewal time. If the seller has given up hope and potentially not renew it, then the end user could pick it up for $10. If it does get renewed they may then decide to just buy it at retail price. So an aged domain has its benefits.

Honestly, I'd say that they will sell for higher price if investors see something special in them.

Like, I would pay up to $100 for Great Keyword+Keyword .com and up to $15 for the majority of made up word you can find here.

One advantage of buying a published name is you can see the logo.
