5 hours on support chat. Horrible experience with Namecheap.
Awful support. wasted my time.
long story short:
Bought a domain name from Afternic, domain currently hosted at namecheap.
Seller authorizes domain name transfer, receive email from namecheap, in the email there is a link to transfer the domain name.
clicked the link in email. ienter account info, log in.
then it gives me option to accept or decline domain name transfer invitation, after clicking accept, get the following errorrovider error when changing contacts for domain
Spent 5 hours on chat, the best answer they provided was that only domain name owners can initiate transfers. what a joke,
Rather not post the chat log here as it is to embarrassing to read.Last edited by joshivivek; 05-25-2016 at 05:29 PM.

I am a bit lost here...
You say you bought a domain name registration from Afternic and it is currently hosted at NameCheap.
Seller authorized the domain name registration transfer.
Seller received the domain name registration transfer email and clicked accept.
Where are you getting the option to accept or decline the transfer?
If the domain is not registered to you - it is not yours as far as NameCheap knows. If look to be trying to steal a customer from them they will lock it down - they had an issue with something similar in the past -> http://www.postphp.com/namecheap-liv...loss-of-2-vps/
In short - what you have explained to me sounds shady from the fact that it sounds like you're going about this all wrong. Then again - you didn't really provide enough detail for me to come to any other conclusions.█ Michael Denney - MDDHosting.com - Proudly hosting more than 37,700 websites since 2007.

i received the email to accept the domain ownership.
stuck because when i click accept. I receive the error. I am already working to transfer away from namecheap. Tired of it.

Glad to see namecheap got this all sorted out for you, but why spend 5 hours on chat? Seems like this is something that would have been better handled through email/ticket, as you found out.
I woulda left after the first 20 , 30 minutes.
Chat agents often can't provide a ton of real support. Not that they're bad, but their focus is more immediate questions. They probably should have told you to open up a ticket well before 5 hoursTom Whiting, WHMCS Guru extraordinaire
