Three of Week's Top Five Sales Are 3-Letter .Coms - ccTLDs Claim 8 Chart Entries

The perennial popularity of 3-letter .coms continues unabated. While the top spot on our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart went to Acure.com at $65,000, three of the next four spots went to 3-letter .coms. Sedo sold #2 FFG.com for $60,000, Erwan Kina moved #3 NWT.com for $40,000 and Sedo rounded out the first five with #5 UIO.com at $21,600. Sandwiched in between the latter two was #4 Antalya.de at $22,400 - the highest of eight ccTLDs on the elite list.

Shane Kinsch of Netracorp.com gets credit for the #1 sale after sending Acure.com to AcureOrganics. That led a pack of 11 .coms on the Big Board, including Sedo's sale of #6 Antonia.com at $20,580.

Sedo went on to sweep 18 pf the 21 chart entries (the extra spot resulting from a tie for the final position). SnapNames was the only other company able to buck the tied with their $8,500 sale of #16 JJMC.com

By Ron Jackson

Sedo accounted for all eight of those country code sales, including a second one that cracked the top ten - #10 (tie) Urlaub.co at $11,200.

The non .com gTLDs were left with one spot on the leader board that went to Sedo's $20,525 sale of #7 BBR.net. It was an extraordinarily slow week for this group overall with only six sales reported for the entire category.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

We thought the  non .com gTLDs had a rough week in their previous outing when only 12 sales were reported for the entire category but it got even worse this week with only six sales reported. The best of those, BBR.net, came in at a very healthy $20,525 via Sedo though.

Sedo scored a second chart entry with #3 VR-GAmes.net at $3,000. With so few runners, there wasn't much of an extension race as .net and .bio wound up with two apiece to tie for the lead. Here is how the non .com gTLD sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 22, 2016:
