Finally! Proof that the Chinese are obsessed with the number “8”

China‘s obsession with numbers is not new.

The use of number combinations to convey words or phrases even, has led to a cultural adoption of an alternate way of writing things.

Number 8 is particularly lucky for China’s domainers.

With a pronunciation of “Ba” in Chinese, number “8” sounds similar to the word “Fa”, which means to make a fortune. It delivers wishes of prosperity, success and high social status.

The proof to China’s obsession for numbers was delivered tonight, after a visit to a local Chinese restaurant. This car was parked outside.

We aren’t sure if the car’s owner is a domainer, but it was too funny not to share. 😀

It seems all the 62 8.com combinations (8.com isn’t available) are taken, mostly by Chinese domainers.
