Its simple: Post stuff that people like! Be helpful, solve problems for people. Be a useful member of the forum.

Your useless one liners that contribute nothing of value to threads will never get 'likes'

You might need to post more than once a week. 44 posts in 52 weeks? Why do you even want to be established if this forum holds so little interest to you? Maybe there's another forum that will serve you better and encourage you to participate as this one clearly doesn't have what it takes.

The best way to gain more like IMO is to just try to provide quality posts, create quality threads and don't even try to get the likes.

If you are setting out looking for likes, they will always seem to evade you. Just try to make good, useful, quality posts and try to be a member that people see quality posts in and not just see someone who's desperate to try to get likes.

Make good posts and forget about getting likes and they will come sooner than you think.

    Good Luck. ;)

Give advice where you can, offer critique where applicable and don't be afraid to use humor. It's o.k. if English isn't your 1st language. As long as you are seen to be trying, most members will give you a pass on broken English.
The only place where broken English doesn't get a free pass is when members try to pass themselves off as native writers.
Good luck to you with all.

Oh, well... there are differences between "broken" and "broken". Some posts are so bad it takes a boatload of imagination to even try to figure out what they're talking about. Especially in coding-forums, since they often also have the specifics / lingo confused. However, the OP in this thread isn't even close to the worst I've seen on this forum, and should fare without trouble.

As for likes, as others have stated, contribute. Post answers, participate in discussions, if you're so inklined, try to post funny comments or threads and so on and so forth. It's really not that hard, if you have some knowledge that might be useful for others. However, posting one-liners, not-useful comments and such will most likely give you less likes, if people recognize that you have done that, they'll be less inclined to give you likes even when you do contribute.

I am also member of this forum from last 1 year. As you can see I have 8 likes not much but the funny things is I haven't asked & tried to get this likes! I just try to be honest when trying to help some people. What I have learned here is getting comments isn't hard, if you try your best efforts & be honest while trying to help some people.

I have not tried to get likes, but I still can't get likes. I have been a member here for well over a year. Maybe it is just because I don't post in the most active sections, but I'm not sure.

    From what I've noticed:
First, there are plenty new members which can't actually give like - not sure why this option is limited - since many people that are looking for help are actually new members.

Second, there is a huge number of threads where people ask for help but never come back to see the result. I've checked few posts in the past days, in 1 out of 10 the OP actually came back to respond.

There can be a number of reasons behind this. One I can think of is that those old members are not active here anymore.
