As if the stars and such in titles weren't bad enough, I'm starting to see emojis more and more as if they will help make a sale.

Can these be disabled?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Personally, I find them childish and unprofessional...

My sentiments exactly.

While originally posting this, I used different emojis and kept editing the title until I found one that was not only fitting but worked in the title as well. It looks like the great people at namePros have made an effort to disable them, however, some of them still slip through.

I think it's only a matter of time before they all are.

If they are used in a discreetly way, they are a helpful tool (for both, writers and readers).
Emojis making sense, that's why they are invented.

But, as I said, only in a discreetly way.
In fact, both of your mentioned two examples are good examples how they should used if they are used - in both cases they are fitting perfect, in a discreetly way.

JMO

Ironically, you are also using an emoji in your title: 'Disable Emojis in Title ❗' < emoji

If this doesn't stop, NP will soon turn into just another forum like BHW or WF....

David - sorry you feel so annoyed by emojis. Sounds like you need a big hug. (wink emoji removed) (hug emoji removed)

KINGOF.TOP - Agreed - they can either compliment a post or can look very tacky if over-used.

Messiah - will check out BHW. What is WF?

Apologies if my balls have offended anyone, however, it appears that emojis can and do attract attention - as the creation of this thread has shown. Thank you for the plug x

What is WF?
I would say..Warrior Forum..

My opinion..emojis are great for texting, especially when I am too lazy to use words...maybe in a part of s posting but not in a title

I second that. They serve no purpose, buyers are attracted by the quality of the name(s) and Not by its flashiness.

Vote to get rid of them. Before the forum starts to look like an old myspace page. Fine for the post body, not the title.

As far as I recall, we've never added anything specifically for emoji. However, we did patch XenForo to provide proper support for a wider variety of text, including emoji. I don't believe XenForo supports Unicode emoji out-of-the-box.

Well, I can't take back what I said about you... you did a great job at updating the framework that eliminated this then. :)

Actually, I didn't realize how long ago this thread was started. I might've made a quick fix at some point, but I certainly don't remember what it was. I'll have to check the logs. Are they currently completely blocked or just partially?

Some are blocked (or turn into nothing) like the stars and some emojis. Others, are not. As an example, the explanation mark in this thread.
