Domain Movers: TrueTear.com, TankTroopers + More

Welcome to another round of Domain Movers, where DotWeekly puts a pulse on corporate domain name activity.

Today, we see several gaming companies registering new domain names likely related to upcoming new game releases. We also see some “advertising” domains and several branding type domains.

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. registers the domain names HandVaccum.com and HandVaccums.com

The Procter & Gamble Company has acquired the domain name SmileGuru.com from HugeDomains. The domain has been registered since October 2013 and had an offering price of $2,695

P&G also acquired 24Smile.com via Sedo which had a $499 GDP buy now price.

They also registered the domain names GetZevo.com and ZevoInsect.com. Golfsmith International currently owns Zevo.com

ABC, Inc. (Disney) has registered the domain FanKit.net, Sony Music Entertainment owns FanKit.com

Gawker Media Group Inc., was acquired by Univision and may become Gizmodo Media Group Inc., based on some domain name registrations like: GizmodoMediaGroup.com/net , GizmodoGroup.com/net & GizmodoMGroup.com/net

Microsoft registered 4 new domain names and most appear game related. Those were: BattleExpert.com, HackShock.com, ShellTest.com and ConnectAlerts.com

Electronic Arts Inc., (EA) followed suit with Microsoft and registered several new game domain names. Those included: MechanismGame.com, LostLegionGame.com and ReforgeGame.com. EA also registered the hyphen version of each.

Men.com, which Rick Schwartz sold for $1.32 Million in 2003. The domain sold again in 2011 (for another 7 figure amount) as mentioned by DomainNameWire.com has had some recent activity on the domain. It went into whois privacy June 7, 2016 and changed registrars from Moniker to Eurodns S.A. It also has changed hosting providers. MG Cyprus Limited is still listed on the website, so it does not appear to have been sold this time around that I can tell.

TrueTear.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain was actually acquired around May 2016 when it went into privacy protection at GoDaddy after going into escrow via Afternic. The plural domain name, TrueTears.com has also been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client and also appears to have taken place around May 2016. Pfizer Inc. did hold a trademark for True Tears in the late 90’s but was abandoned. Pfizer Inc. is a MarkMonitor client.

BoxHorse.com has been sold by HugeDomains for about $1,595 and acquired by EJEE network co., LTD. BoxHorse.net was registered by MarkMonitor client Alibaba Group Holding Limited on September 1, 2016. I’m not sure of the connection, but there may be one.

Nintendo of America Inc. has registered the new domain names TankTroopers.com, MarioSportsSuperstars.com and MiiTopia.com

Tyco Fire Protection Products has acquired the domain name FireClass.com for an undisclosed amount from it’s past owner. The domain has been registered since 2005.

Mylan Inc., makers of the EpiPen has registered several new domain names related to its recently announced generic EpiPen, hinting at its new name. MyAGPen.com, MyGenericEAI.com, MylanGeneric.com and MylanGenericEAI.com. They registered several different ways of the long version, GenericEpinephrineAutoInjector.com/net. They also registered the domains Cardasa.com and Codapane.com. To note, AGPen.com is owned by HugeDomains and is listed at $1,995.
