What is Google’s "Possum" algorithm update? How to recover from it?

My website ranking has been down drastically. I think this is due to Possum update. Please tell me what is possum update & how to recover my website which is hit by possum.

I have noticed that the ranking are still seeing a lot of fluctuation, which is making me think Google is still A/B testing various ranking signals. Ranking trackers are still showing a lot of fluctuation in the search results. It’s possible that some of the things they changed could revert back as well.

 

I bet that your site may be Hit by Google penguin 4.0 update which is rolled out on 23th September 2016. This update is focus on sites which have low quality of Backlinks. Ha! At first I thought the original poster was "playing possum" with us. Then I Googled it and found out that there actually is something called Google "Possum." You learn something every day, even at age 73!
