Feedback How to get refund through Marketplace?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by HorrorMovies, Oct 13, 2016.

I just bought an article which is beyond terrible.

I mean it literally makes no sense. How do I go about getting a refund for it?

If you paid via PayPal you'll need to open a case via their resolution center. DigitalPoint doesn't intermediate in PayPal disputes (I am not a mod, I just repeat what I saw the mods posting here when something like this happens).

What @qwikad.com said. Basically, if you paid via Paypal, take it up with them, if you didn't pay via Paypal, you're shit outta luck. Oh, and perhaps leave a reply/comment on the content/person/sales-thread, to warn others.

I am going to respond to your question as someone who used to make a living from writing. What you do is put the fear of God into him/her. Inform the writer in no uncertain terms that you will name and shame him/her on this site and on other sites.
A writers reputation is his/her bread and butter. Chances are the writer will then rewrite or discuss giving you a refund. Good luck to you on this matter.

@Spoiltdiva I think you're confusing writers with the hacks that mostly inhabit this, and other, forums. While they might also be in slight need of having a reputation, or at least no negative entries, having so many options allow for them to add their "writing" to a lot of forums and marketplaces. While I do condone the "put the fear of whatever deity he subscribes to" into him, I fear that it might not be a very good option in this case.

You need not concern yourself with deities. For when you die you will hear a very loud "I know ye not!" So you will never have to deal with it.

I think it would be better if these things being implemented in this forum:
    1. Give warning "The quality of articles in this sales thread is not yet being verified. Do let the author/owner know about this. Only Staff able to verify it".
This warning only show up if there is buyer didn't satisfy with the quality of article. It will show up in all sale thread created (digital goods) by that 'low quality writer'.
    2. Block the 'purchase link'. The 'Purchase link' will stay in gray color (inactive) if there is a complain about 'low quality article'.
    3. If staff determine the quality of article is so terrible, Staff would suggest seller to resolve the problem by 'Revising the article' or by using other methods. Seller also has option to refund buyer. If seller didn't show good intention to solve problem, 3 warning will be given to maintain good experience for anyone who buy service/product in DigitalPoint.
    4. Show the new stat in extra user info (below trophy point) "Quality article : 20% (93)". The number '20%' means the percentage of good article being sold by the user. While 93 is total number of article being sold.
I have read somewhere if it is almost impossible to review all articles (being sold) in this forum (there is an automatic process by system - which is not yet perfect). However, the 'review process' is this case is happen when buyer complaining the quality of articles.

By doing four things above the outcome would be:
    1. 'Fraudulent Seller' would not be able to use DigitalPoint for 'scamming other'. Three warnings seems effective the get rid all of them.
    2. Buyer would get good quality article if seller decide to revise it (or refund the money). Buyer have the option to dispute the transaction via PayPal.
Even though staff nor DigitalPoint would not 'interfere' with any transaction, Buyer could show to PayPal's staff if buyer sold bad article by showing the sales thread in this forum. That sales thread (article being sold) already showing this warning => "The quality of articles in this sales thread is not yet being verified. Do let the author/owner know about this. Only Staff able to verify it" which mean buyer should revise the article or refund the money (due to low quality product being sold).
DigitalPoint only allow good quality product but seller didn't comply with the rules. It should give enough reason to win dispute because "Seller give wrong product"
    3. This forum would have better articles and much more buyer in long term. Great Writer ('Qualified Writer') would get higher revenue due to many member buy the articles. The articles it self would have higher price (due to high quality rating).
I know it is hard to review the articles if there are too many articles need to be reviewed. However, it will make this forum even more popular in future. I do know the difficulties to realize it. It maybe really hard to implement or to do all the task explained above. I hope this solution able to overcome the problem and make this forum a better place for everyone.

When I die, I'm dead. End of story. There's not gonna be a pearly gate, nor a river, or any other incarnation of superstition.

No. In every sense. Dead. Ceased to exist. No nirvana, no afterlife, no flying around with wings or doing mischief with a tail and horns. Anything else is non-proven fantasy due to humanity's inane failure to accept that death is death.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will raise with PayPal. Already left feedback on the sale.

I like how this thread was about a refund and it evolved (pardon the pun) into a spiritual discussion.

Content providers in the marketplace should receive warnings for selling content that is not a reasonable standard (spun/junk articles), and after 3 warnings they get banned from using the marketplace.

This will help to weed out the low quality content sellers, which are negatively impacting the content marketplace, because if a buyer has a bad experience, they are less likely to return to purchase other articles.

It would also mean these sellers wouldn't flood the marketplace with their junk articles.

Couldn't agree more! I understand the DP owners don't want to get involved with transactions but a rating system that once it reached a lower limit banned a user would work great.

Yeah it was really stupid, obnoxious, and annoying. I know they were just having fun but it 'hijacked' the thread and I stopped even reading the posts anymore.
