Jacobs Private Equity LLC has filed a lawsuit at the Eastern Virginia District Court, to regain control of the domain JPE.com.
According to WHOIS records from DomainTools, the domain JPE.com changed hands around September 4, 2016. There are no public records of a recent sale, and the domain was moved from Network Solutions to Dynadot.
Although the lawsuit was filed in rem – against the domain itself – the basis is listed as trademark related.
It’s quite possible that the domain changed hands as the result of an illegitimate transfer. The current registrant only owns this particular domain, according to DomainTools.
