By acquiring Ricks.blog from Automattic, Rick Schwartz indicates the importance he places in new gTLDs.
In 2010, Rick registered Rick.co as well, a domain that forwards to DomainKing.com.
Incidentally, another .Blog domain registered by Rick is DomainKing.blog for obvious reasons of brand protection as it relates to domain blogging.
Both .Blog domains were registered during the Sunrise period.
Could it be that Rick Schwartz intends to end his long sabbatical from blogging, and return to active posting?
We sure hope so. 😀
Meanwhile, our hunch that XXXvideos.com was sold for seven figures USD, was confirmed yesterday, in a DNJournal coverage of domain sales by Rick Schwartz.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Rick back in action and actively blogging again.
