Robert Herjavec to speak at Canadian Internet Forum

You've seen him on Dragon's Den, and also on ABC's Shark Tank, now Robert Herjavec will be speaking to the Canadian Internet Industry at the 2012 Canadian Internet Forum (CIF) on Feb 27 in Ottawa.

Robert Herjavec made his fortune by building a successful Internet security company called the Herjavec Group.  He also appears on television, making deals on Dragons Den and Shark Tank with budding entrepreneurs pitching their ventures to himself and others such as Kevin O'Leary and Mark Cuban.

Herjavec recently published a book about his life called Driven: How to Succeed in Business and in Life



Panelists at the CIF event will discuss the future of the Internet in Canada, and the panelists will include:



  • Steve Anderson, Open Media
  • Frédérick Gaudreau, Sûreté du Québec
  • Michael Geist, University of Ottawa
  • Bill Graham, Internet Society


  • Also at the event:

    The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) will present findings from a three-month online dialogue with Canadians about the development of the Internet.  Hot topics among Canadians included digital literacy, security and safety, access/cost, digital economy, policy and governance, and technology and regulation.

    The results of the online discussion forum and the national event will be presented this fall to the United Nations-coordinated Internet Governance Forum, a venue for nations to discuss the future of the Internet.

    The Canadian Internet Forum takes place on Feb 27, 2012, from 9am to 5pm at the Westin Ottawa, 11 Colonel By Drive.
