.ca domain: How to buy a domain in redemption period?

    Hi all,


    I was monitoring a .ca domain name and it was registered/active until 2 days ago.


    1. In WHOIS, its status changed from active to redemption immediately! According to gTLD life cycle, I was expecting it to take 45 days then go to redemption as is for .com domains but I was surprised! Am I missing something? How long will redemption period take?

    2. To be prepared for buying it: Should I wait for it to show up on CIRA's TBR (To Be Released) domain list or should I put a backorder? CIRA says I should contact a registrar... Which registrar is your preference for .ca TBR domains?
