Hi, I'm been a member for quite a while but have never really interacted with others. I'd like to see what others are doing to promote their developed domains and share my experience. I have some very top level domains and would like to correspond with others that have the same.

What’s your name?
A: Wayne Gathright

Where do you live?
A: Austin Texas

What’s your level of expertise?
novice, intermediate, expert, etc.
A: intermediate to expert

How much experience do you have in the domain industry?
years, experience, etc.
A: 15 years

What would you like to specifically learn first?
how to buy a domain, domain history, best selling strategies, government policies, etc.
A: n/a

Are you currently working on any projects or ideas?
A: I have several domains under development and many others I'd like to develop if I had the time. The best domain that I own is Tenants.com, and I am currently developing that domain as a resource for tenants to find answers to questions and locate a good rental. I realize that it is a category killer and could go far, but I'm keeping it fairly dormant until I finish developing the apps behind it.

What are your short-term goals in the next year?
A: Complete my current project and start on others, possibly with other serious domain owners and developers. I have a lot of good ideas but not much time.

What are your long-term goals in the next 5 years?
A: Have 50 money making domains. I'm especially excited about developing domains that have to do with real estate and future computers and the new materials being used with nanotechnology. These would include graphene, nanodots, quantum computers, photonic computers, and similar items. These will be a reality in just a few years.

What was your first domain you purchased?
A: One of the first was Overdubs.com. I still own that domain and plan on making it a website that allows musicians to work together online to create music. Of course, 'overdubs' is the process of layering tracks to create a song.

Why did you start investing in domains? Please tell us the story.
A: I starting buying domains around fifteen years ago (year 2000) and probably bought too many in the excitement I felt to own a good name forever. At the peak I had over 350 domains, now that is down to about 175 total.

What domain tech do you most want evolved?
parking, marketplaces, news, analytics, registrars, etc.
A: I think they are all very good and helpful.

Do you have any predictions for coming trends?
A: Nope, that is what I'm hoping to discuss with others.

What do you enjoy most about domaining?
A: The opportunity to make a domain into a valuable asset.

Do you have any predictions for where the entire domain industry is going?
A: Google is sanitizing domain ownership by de-emphasizing phrase matches and focusing on content, but that has been a long time coming and understandable, really. Long tail keywords are still viable as long as they offer something helpful to the end user.

What’s your funniest domain story?
A: I've gotten excited that I registered a great domain only to realize I had misspelled it by accident. Rats!

What significant industry changes have affected you?
A:The release of all the new extensions, definitely. My dot TV domains were pretty good but I'll probably end up just letting them go at the next renewal time. I like SoftwareHelp.tv for a tv channel that provides videos about learning software, and VirtualDating.tv for a site that allowed online dating through animation.
